Little Gasparilla Island

Little Gasparilla Island, a Gulf Coast treasure, is centered between Sarasota to the north and Ft. Myers to the south on the Southwest Coast of Florida and boasts some of the most beautiful, white sand beaches. There are seven miles of pristine beach to traverse as you walk from the south end of Little Gasparilla at Gasparilla Pass, continuing to Don Pedro Island and Stump Pass. You will enjoy outstanding shelling, scenic nature and water views. Peaceful, uncrowded beaches allow plenty of room for the sunbather. Great bayside fishing in Placida Harbor for Snook, Trout or Redfish and world famous Boca Grande Pass for Tarpon fishing is close at hand.

In the late 1800's the island was bought by a developer which he subsequently subdivided and called it the Town of Seaboard. In the early 1950's, the bridge to the mainland was removed, never to be replaced when the Intracoastal was dredged. In later years, the island was replatted many times over with current lots larger than most of the original lots in the Town.

IN 2007, the residents created the community plan detailing the vision for their island. There was a change in density to allow only single family homes. The current sand trails are to remain with no paved roads. The Islanders wanted the ambiance of the island to remain as it is today...a small community of modest, single family beach houses with a large white sand beach and never any crowds. We have fire protection 24/7 and a paramedic on duty.

Little Gasparilla Island is a unique and beautiful island, a delightful bit of the "Old Florida" that is so hard to find these days. It is off the beaten path, very quiet, yet never short of sunrises, sunsets and everything in between. Nature just seems to know how to put on a show. Islanders really appreciate that you need to take a boat ride to get there...it is part of the adventure!
